SBR is a synthetic elastomer produced by the polymerization of styrene and butadiene monomers. Its irregular molecular structure gives it different physical and mechanical characteristics compared with natural rubber. SBR can be used as an alternative to natural rubber in many applications and, thanks to its cost efficiency, good processability and abrasion resistance, is commonly used in gaskets, vibration-control components and various technical rubber parts.
